Hello and welcome to Chibi Nōto! I will be sending you an email each week with a list of journal prompts to help you cultivate a cozy and quick journal practice.
January 2025
For the first week of January, I know there is usually a lot of pressure to change, or pick up a new habit. We often pressure ourselves to meet our New Year’s resolutions, and plan out our whole lives. This is a lot of pressure, and usually I feel like when I inevitably don’t meet all my goals, I feel a bit let down.
This year I want to try something different, and be more gentle with myself. Mainly, I want to try to slow down. After the holidays it can be hard to ramp back up, so these journal prompts are meant to slowly get us back into the swing of things while being slow and methodical.
Let’s practice gentleness with these journal prompts:
Week 1: Starting Slow
If I had to choose one word to describe the “theme” of this year it would be:
What are three ways that I can live out that “theme”?
Describe my ideal slow morning routine.
What helps me feel grounded and calm?
Write about one thing I want to savor this year.
What small habit can I start to create more peace in my life?
Is there something that makes me feel rushed or pressured that I can reduce or remove in my life?
